The membership of the Board is as follows:

Brian Gallagher

Brian joined the Board in 2021 and has extensive experience in the disability sector having held senior management positions throughout his career and also has CEO experience. Brian is Chair of Dara Board and is a member of Dara Finance, Audit and Remuneration Sub Committee and is a member of the Governance Sub Committee

Ursula Galvin

Ursula joined the Board in 2020 and currently works as a HR Manager in the pensions industry. Ursula’s previous experience includes working as a Business Manager in the HSE with responsibility for Diversity, Equality & Inclusion and she also has more than 20 years disability sector experience. Ursula is a member of the Policy Sub Committee.

Mary Lavin

Mary has a daughter with an intellectual disability and has been a parent representative Board member for the respite service since 2018.

Lynda McElherron

Lynda joined the Board in 2020 and has an extensive background in lecturing, training and business and is a member of the Quality Safety & Risk Committee.

Catherine Slattery

Catherine joined the Board in 2021.Catherine is a health and social care senior executive within the voluntary sector with extensive experience in disability and social housing at operational and strategic level. Throughout her career she has championed the rights and active citizenship of people with disabilities to empower them to live the life of their choice.

Adrian Watson

Adrian joined the board in May 2022 and has an extensive background in Finance and Housing.

Paul Pearson

Paul joined the board in 2023. He currently works as a senior manager in the acute healthcare sector. Paul has a background in regulation and quality management systems, including inspection and auditing. He is experienced in the regulation of the health and social care sector in Ireland. Paul is a member of the Quality, Safety and Risk Committee.


Hugh Fitzgibbon

Hugh joined the board in 2023. He is a trainee solicitor in a large law firm in Dublin and will qualify in early 2024. Hugh has extensive experience working and volunteering in the non-profit sector and previously worked in disability services in the United States.

John Gorman

John joined the Board of Dara in May 2023 and has extensive knowledge in the SME sector in Ireland in HR and Training & Performance Management.
