Dara Respite is an ordinary house in the community for adults with an intellectual disability in Celbridge where people spend three, four or seven nights at a time at intervals during the year. Respite provides each person the opportunity to socialize and spend time with friends. The staff support a small group to go out for dinner, go to the cinema, go bowling and visit local parks and leisure facilities. Respite does not open during the day. The Respite house is regulated by HIQA. Four people can attend Respite at one time. Each person is encouraged to participate in planning and decision making about meals and outings and activities during the week so it is a good experience for everyone.
